Charles Chen

Charles Chen is an Executive Advisor, specializing in AI, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. Before joining RMS, Charles served as the Director of the Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technology Office for the U.S. Department of State. Fostering a collaborative work culture with a team of highly technical engineers and architects in developing leading-edge technologies and delivering innovative solutions to satisfy mission needs. Most recently, Charles served as Senior VP of IT and Security within the healthcare industry.

A native of California, Charles has 30 years of experience in Information Technology and cybersecurity and has served the federal government for over a decade. He is passionate about advancements in technology to bring greater good to society, with in-depth knowledge and interests in wireless infrastructure, cloud and blockchain distributed computing, cyber intelligence, data analytics, IoT, and numerous branches of Artificial Intelligence, including Natural Language Processing, Robotics Process Automation, and Generative AI. 

Charles received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA and master’s from Northwestern University. He is a council member of the University of Washington Pacific Northwest Cybersecurity Leadership Council and possesses 17 IT and cybersecurity certifications, including CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CEH, CCNP, and MCSE.
